CRAM, Squib Box & the BBC!

It was wonderful co curating a night with Neil Luck and artists from superb, fearless music collective Squib Box. It was even more super, as we had the whole thing recorded (take down in evidence if you will) by BBC Radio 3, for Hear and Now, to be broadcast in 2018.

Solo concert at Jazz en Nord Festival, France

It was super to travel to Lille at the weekend to perform solo at the amazing Jazz en Nord Festival.

It was also perhaps my first festival concert which was a pre-lunch, sunday morning ordeal, with the music followed by a marvellous wine brunch. Indeed as we chatted afterwards, my friend Claude Colpaert (founder of the fest, programmer of this solo concert series for 20 years) mentioned 'we have some wine to drink' to which the various replies heard were mostly 'welcome to France' - it was about time for my 3rd morning coffee - but true enough, wine was a WAY BETTER idea!

Huge thanks to Claude and all at Jazz en Nord for inviting me for this special performance. Amazing to perform at this solo concert series, running for 20 years, and featuring too many great artists (an intimidating thing to think on, of a saturday night before a sunday morning performance...)

Japan Tour 2017 - Miya & Benedict Taylor

It is wonderful to return to Tokyo in 2017 to continue working with my good friend and colleague, the superb flautist Miya, with some amazing invited guest artists!

After first working together in 2010, we have since been able to continue playing in different countries including the UK, Malaysia, India and Japan.

After some ace concerts in Tokyo in 2012, it is great to be back in town.

Looking forward to a jam packed week of concerts and workshops, starting tonight at Kichijoji MEG, joined by the excellent Akira Sakata on alto sax.

Keep up with the tour here (and if in Japan come along!) and of course facebook, twitter etc etc......

The Hungry at BFI London Film Festival 2017 opening weekend!

It's a real pleasure to see The Hungry screening at the BFI London Film Festival on the 7th & 8th of October. I had a blast composing and recording the music for this film, and can't wait to see it up on the big screen.

Congratulations to Bornila Chatterjee, Kurban Kassam & Tanaji Dasgupta, Film London, Cinestaan Film Company and all the superb creatives and crew from the UK and India who made this happen.

Anyone in town who fancies a night at the movies, come and check out this very exciting new film:
